Our story
We (Allie and Rachel) were roommates while attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout. We discovered a mutual love for weeding at this time while we lived in a very crooked rental house in Menomonie, Wisconsin. In our time in this house, we re-edged the garden beds, weeded, mulched, and transplanted, to make our well-loved house feel like home.
In the eight years following college, we both worked in a variety of positions in the professional gardening field. Through this time, the idea for Great River Gardens was formed. The mission for Great River Gardens came organically, as our values and ideologies of garden care have been well aligned from the beginning of our careers in this industry.
We believe well-maintained outdoor spaces foster overall well-bring for people, plants, insects, and animals. We love being able to plant and care for spaces that provide clients with places to relax and interact with nature. In addition, we seek to provide maintenance that fosters plant growth and the growth of beneficial insects and wildlife populations.
